C was born a week ago at 31 weeks. He's not even a week old but tonight when Gen and I went to visit him in the hospital and we held him, he looked up at us. It was a look that said, "I know you and when I am with you, in your arms, I am home."

This evening, when I visited C in the NICU, he opened his eyes when he heard my voice. We looked into each other's eyes and he scanned my face as I wept and talked to him. We stayed like that for at least 10 minutes. The nurse thought it was longer. He was so peaceful and calm and then he got tired and his eyes closed. He opened them a few more times to make sure I was still there before closing them again and falling asleep.

Earlier today Geniene was informed that C may have an infection and that they are going to start him on antibiotics. Timelines at this stage seem somewhat contrived and meaningless due to the fact that things can change so drastically very, very quickly.

Baby C made his arrival into this world at 4:41 PM. It was a fast and hurried time from when we saw the perinatologist and he learned that Gen was having headaches (around 3:30 PM) and his birth.

We are continuing to ask for prayer. If this baby is to come this weekend we ask that that would become hugely obvious. If not, we ask that these symptoms would go away. As for visitors, Gen isn't really feeling it. She still looks angelic but she feels like she might be a bit bloated.

Yesterday morning at her doctors appointment Geniene showed signs of pre-eclampsia and was sent to the hospital for more conclusive testing. This morning she was given one of two doses of steroids to help with baby C's development in the event that she will deliver him early.
