The adventures of Geniene and Kid #3 – The art of breathing

Dear Family and Friends,

This past week has certainly been a whirlwind, but it’s very much just the beginning.

Hard to believe that C is here and that Geniene is no longer pregnant, but it’s the truth and thank God they delivered when they did.

As it turns out, C had ceased getting nutrients through the placenta and it was only a matter of time before he would have starved to death. (No one knew that was the case)

As it turns out, Geniene was a lot sicker than anybody knew at the time, all of her symptoms were easily enough explained although the doctors now tell us that if she didn’t deliver when she did, she wouldn’t have made it. (Hind site is 20/20)

We’re grateful for all of your prayers and ask that you continue to pray.

Geniene is no longer constrained to her bed. She is now able to move about as she is able. However, she still has a lot of healing to do.

C is doing well but his breathing is up and down. This morning they put him on a ventilator because the lower half of his lungs were looking like they may collapse. He does respond well to treatment so we are grateful but this art of breathing is much more precarious than any of us would realize.

It’s true when the scriptures say that Jesus holds us together! Pray that Jesus would continue to hold baby C in his hands and teach him to breathe.

As of right now, we are still looking at 6 – 7 weeks until C comes home. Geniene should be coming home on Monday.
