Mother’s Day
Yesterday was the first day in 2 weeks that Geniene, E, G and me were able to spend some time together as family with no one else around. It has been difficult for us to find a new “normal” in the midst of chaos but yesterday was a good effort.
I was able, with help, to get the house to a point where we could stay the night there and be together.
We slept in till 7 am when G decided he wanted to watch Sesame Street and then went to the 11 am service at CCQ. After the service we prayed with the pastors.
From there we got lunch, rested a bit and went to the hospital to visit with C.
Once there, I got to dress C in his first outfit. His top said, “Cool like dad.” It’s been a while since I’ve changed a baby but it was wonderful.
Much to our surprise the boys were able to meet him. We were expecting to have the boys look at him through the glass but the nurse allowed us to take C out of the NICU for a brief moment to do some introductions.
We are super grateful and it was super good for the boys. On our way out of the hospital G spoke up and said, “I’m a big brother now!”
I think our new “normal” might be closer than we realize.
